As I start this blog I am at a junction in my life that I either lose weight or die. At 480 LB's and almost bedridden things have to change now!Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.comBlogger70125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-15195098490858278142016-05-29T00:07:00.001-05:002016-05-29T00:07:04.636-05:00Daunting road
As this week a celebrate a huge achievement however I feel overwhelmed with the road ahead.
I have now lost 120 pounds and 100 of it was in the last four months. We will leave out the part that between 2013 -2016 I gained most of what I previously lost.
Anyways, after losing a 100 pounds that sounds great but what doesn't sound great is the scale reads 360 pounds. Even after losing 100 pounds I am still fatter then the average overweight person.
It is also a kick to the nuts when you post something on social media that you lost a 100 pounds and someone sees you on the street and look at you like "you lier you are still a fat bastard"
This happens all the time trust me I have lost a 100 pounds more then once. Which is really sad to say and still weigh 360#
Weight loss is more than a personal struggle. Being fat is a struggle with society.

Like a bad boyfriend
I have had lots of a struggle but have learned tons and am now going to try and share it with the world. I will be deleting old content that is now known as wrong and try to add as much as I can. With 4 daughters now and taking care of my mother as well as running our own business my wife and I are very busy.

Really pushing the heart rate up. I really do like pushing my limits now. I am hoping to really push my weight loss. Here is an updated pic. I plan to add the new workouts to my workouts page soon.

So I am very happy about that. Also we are going to have a new contributor. He will be introducing him self soon so stand by.

Sent from my U.S. Cellular® Android-powered phone

Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-3392868044198746962011-10-17T21:34:00.002-05:002011-10-18T22:29:39.747-05:00#65 HTC Hero S Video reviewWell for the past 6 months I have been limping along my piece of junk (cell phone) I did a thorough search when I bought it and though I found a great phone. but unfortunately in two years I have went through 4 htc touch pro 2's they just can not seem to make it past 6 months of my use. Unfortunately both my wife's 2 year old and very beat up phone and my phone all but quit this last week so of to us cellular we go. I did not find a lot of info online or reviews so I just had to go with the best guess and by playing with the phones the best I could.
I ended up with an HTC Hero S so I thought I would post a quick little video.
I know I do not do cell phone reviews but I could not find anything on the HTC Hero S.
So here I am sharing (very poorly)

The camera I am most impressed with it is
pretty fast to use and the pics are really good for a cell. and not bad for a point and shoot. It is a 5mp f2.2 aperture BSI sensor. BSI is Backside Illumination. The down side is there is no dedicated camera button. I mean I do like a clean non cluttered phone. It only has the volume rocker and power button as far a buttons go and a head set jack and m usb for charging and linking.
The overall speed and ease of use is such a big improvement over my previous phone that it is hard for me to give a good non biased opinion. However I did play with the Motorola Electrify a lot as well and it did not seem faster even though it has a 1GHz dual core processor while the Hero S 1.2 GHz single.
It is easy to talk highly of such an upgrade but almost any phone out would been serious upgrade. All in all I think most people would find the HTC Hero S to be a good phone. Any thing else you want to know just leave a comment and I will do my best to get back to you.

Here are some photos from the HTC Hero S

Sunset over Toledo iowa. I am surprised at the DR and the auto ISO does a really good job this is at ISO 224

I ended up grinding my Chia finer then the Mila which may cause some of the differences. The Mila does taste
better but keep in mind Chia of any kind does not really have much taste. In Fact most people can not taste it at all. So saying one tastes better really is not saying much. It Mixes in water fairly well. Now mixing Chia in any form in water or any liquid is hard core to some. Chia absorbs so much liquid that it thickens it and can cause your water to turn to a slime if you have to much chia to liquid.
As I said previously Anytime Fitness has given me an all expense paid trip to D.C. For the annual AF conference. I do not even know what to take for clothes. I have not bought much that fits for the simple fact last spring when I bought some much needed pants (tight pants) I under grew them in less then a month. I did not realize how nervous I was until I got to work 30 min early. As I go through my list of things to pack I realize what am I allowed to take on a plane. I mean what are they going to say about my chia seeds in a old honey jar. I do not want to take a new tube that is just too much and takes too much space. So do the people at the airport freak out on little black and white seeds being carried in an old unmarked jar? I would hate to be strip searched over some chia seeds. I just do not know. So with my ramblings you can see how may day is going. I just hope I can sleep good tonight and early. I have to be up by 3:00A.M. To make it to my plane on time allowing the prescribed 2 hours for security. Well off for now but before I go I will add my challenge. I know I will not be at the gym but I know there are many fitness fanatics that will be with me tomorrow. Almost 800 last I heard. That some read this so I may be in some serious pain. So here it is if you comment on this post you have the ability to challenge me to a 20 sec plank. I know 20 sec is not a lot but I know after a few challenges I get worn out. So there you have it. Have a great weekend and hope to get a good workout on.

Sent from my U.S. Cellular Windows phone.Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-79329282177604942212011-09-22T15:34:00.000-05:002011-09-22T18:05:44.804-05:00#57 you like to see me workWell yesterday did not go as bad as I thought it would. Luckily not as many people came in to make me work off the pizza as I thought there would have been. However some of you that missed the opportunity have suggested that I have a challenge more often. So here it is once a week I will post a challenge for the next day. How it will work is, as long as you leave a comment on my blog and lose LB or die FaceBook page. I have to do the challenge like for yesterday it was I had to do what you did for 5 min. So I will post a challenge by 10:30 the night before, the rest will be up to you and whoever else is following and decides to make me sweat.

Sent from my U.S. Cellular® Windows® phone.Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-55243885263603861122011-09-20T21:22:00.000-05:002011-09-20T21:26:51.313-05:00# 56 My baby is 3Well today was my youngest daughters 3rd birthday. All day just crawled by I could not stay focused on anything and seemed to get nothing done. But as soon as I got home the day was not long enough. We had such a great time. Even though things did not go as planed as usual. I get home and
Sabrina did not make it home on time so dinner had not started itself again. I tell you no matter how much time we take to train dinner it still will not fix itself let alone start with out us. Anyways sense we were running late (But sabrina already had the cake done) we decided to go ahead and have cake and Ice cream while dinner was cooking. Well eating cake and Ice cream to start is not good doing so while hungry even worse. I did keep a good handle on it though I only had one pice of cake and some ice cream. But then Sabrina comes in and says the chicken that is supposed to be for dinner does not smell right. She has this thing with the way poultry smells and if it smells at all then it is no good. So being married for ever and a day. I mean six years I learned not to argue. So What else do we have to cook? Nothing she replies. Now I know she is angling for something. Long story short and not wanting to tell every one how domesticated I am. We end up going for Pizza (Sabrina's favorite food) Told you that wife was angling for something. So we go to Bumble Bees (A locale pizza place) I luckily know them well and even worked there before. So they fixed me up a special pizza for us. It was not healthy but it was good. I know how many of you know how I use pizza as a very high calorie food. So for diet food it was a bad choice. However it was a once in while thing so now I have a challenge for you. I know I was way off track today. I also know that I can not make it up in exercise, but I challenge you to challenge me. For every one who comes to the gym tomorrow and tells me they read this gets me for 5 min to work with you. Now I know 5 min is not much but there are a lot of people that belong to our gym and I know a few that belong to other anytime gyms will make the trip just to see me sweat. So I do want to be able to make it home before midnight. Plus I am a little scared you all may try and hurt me or at least make me throw up. Well it is late and I need as much sleep for tomorrow it may be a very long day.Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-61233013741205827742011-09-15T09:00:00.000-05:002011-09-15T09:00:07.241-05:00#55 Long days? Some times our lives get busy. What am I talking about our lives always seem busy and it is when I am at my busiest two bad things happen. One is I get so caught up I do not eat. I know this sounds like a great thing but then it hits me. Thats right those pangs, Hunger pangs and it does not take long before those PANGS are so loud they are echoing all through my body. So I feel I have to grab any food close to me. And usually way to much. Oh that is the second bad thing. Eating anything in site and all of it. There is a solution but it is not easy. Mainly it is just good planing and thinking ahead. I know that I am going to be hungry so I always have food with me. If I do not then I know I will eat anything handy. I also make sure what ever I have is very quick. If you know me I always have a back pack with me and if you ever get me started on food I will usually pull a thing or two out. That is my plaining on eating. You would not seen your child somewhere all day with out knowing there was going to be something available for them to eat. So what do I carry? Well I always have Chia seeds with me also stuff to make a protein shake and a veggie or fruit of some kind. If we would plan and keep enough "good snacks" handy to eat something every 2-3 hours. I try and eat something through out the day even if I am not really hungry. I know it sounds weird planing to eat but hey it works and you will notice come lunch it your appetite may be spoiled a bit. That is just fine eat only a bit and save the rest to snack on later in the afternoon. So it is time to pack my back pack I have been working 10-13 hour days so I have to make sure I have enough groceries. Let me know some of your favorite foods to take with are and why? Have a great day. I work as an h2i for an Anytime Fitness. However, some days I feel a lot of helplessness and am very sad. I feel this way when I see some one who needs a life style change and they start off making the commitment needed but then they lose motivation and just go back to their old ways. I really wish
I could help these people get on track. I have seen people who when they join the gym they are all gun ho. They commit for a year some times two but then they use the gym once and give up. I know how hard it is to come into the gym when you feel everyone is looking at you. I know how it feels to be too fat to fit on a machine or be over the weight limit. I know how it feels to not even be able to use an elliptical for 30 seconds. Ya, that is right one of my first cardio goals was to be able to do 30 seconds on an elliptical. So it kills me when I can not help some one get on a better track. I am not saying I know it all but I do know enough to help. Plus it motivates me so much when I am able to help some one. Being able to use my life long struggle to do something good just helps me understand at least my struggle with my weight has not been a waste. Pass on knowledge, helpfulness, or just an understanding smile. It may just motivate you more than the person you gave it to.

Sent from my U.S. Cellular® Windows® phone.Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-57416738432100834242011-09-01T13:01:00.000-05:002011-09-02T08:22:35.738-05:00#53 What is Interval Training?Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-35722650878320403932011-08-24T09:03:00.000-05:002011-09-09T14:06:34.980-05:00#52 Quinoa what's that?

Quinoa is a really good food to get to know if you are looking for nutrient dense foods and a great food for weight loss. It is one of those foods that is extremely versatile. I love quinoa and cooking
with it. It can be used as you would use rice, oatmeal, flour, just all kinds of ways. I could sit here and try and tell you how great it is and how many recipes it can be used in but I could do it no justice. I will say it is a key food in my weight loss though. It is a great source of protein and fiber along with calcium, iron, vitamin E and several B vitamins. It is also gluten free.
I will post some links that will do more justice than I can do as far a recipes go and info.
Here is a Facebook page just about quinoa. www.facebook.com/pages/Quinoa-Corporation
However it can be hard and why is it necessary? Well the why is endless, in short it will make you feel better both physically and mentally, give you more confidence, sleep better and on and on. There is a large misconception about exercise and weight loss though.

You can not out exercise what you put in the pie whole. It just does not work, so portion control is necessary. More on that later for now I am rambling about exercise.
The hardest thing about exercise is getting started and staying with it.
As some one who is obese these are mountains and big-ins at that. If you look around and ask, everyone will have their own opinion on what you need to do. That is great and all but lets be real getting exercise advice is like getting a root canal. You know you need it but you sure as heck do not want it. So how does one get started? Well the first and largest advice I have is find something you like or even love.

Every one will freely tell you what they think is the best and think you should as well. That really does not help get me motivated so I doubt it will you. However if you find something you like then dive right at it. Do not worry about when exercise guru X says that is not the way, you need to do more --------- what ever they are spewing your way. I tell you this that doing something you like and can enjoy will give you alot more reward then doing what guru x suggests hating it and quitting all together in a month or less. So if you love to run then run, Box then box, weight lifting the lift some weights already. Moving is the key and start there.
Now do not get me wrong some things will work better than others but as some one who is obese that is not the point right now, right now we just have to move and keep moving. I do suggest to keep an open mind for when guru x suggests something it may be great and you may love the results enough to do something you do not like, But never stop exercising the way you like, always try and keep a passion.Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-24583197737540133522011-08-19T09:13:00.000-05:002011-08-19T18:33:59.375-05:00#50I figured my 50th post should be some thing monumental. However I am not creative enough or planned enough ahead to have something great. EPIC FAIL! In fact I have been thinking for the past two days what can I do? And nothing has come to mind. Don't you just hate it when that happens? So instead I will just jot down some of the things going on.

I got to help
a few guys with their workout and get them started in the right direction which was really the highlight of my week. It feels so good to be able to help people get serious about their health.
I worked my last day at sears which I am very happy about but now my bosses are reneging on giving me more hours at Anytime. It sure does make it hard when we (my wife and I) do not even make enough to be off of welfare. But the owners say they do not have any money because they have spent so much this year. So they can not give me anymore hours or pay me any more then they are.
That is alright though. I know I am worth it and I really do not work for them at the gym I really work for the people that come in. That is very rewarding and I really like being able to work with people. I think I am mostly disappointed for not being able to be there more to work with people more.
I hope that my wife and I will be able to grow our own food here soon. I am tired of going to the store and most of the veggies they have are nasty looking or very few to choose from.
Well I get to go work at the gym today and I do look forward to that. So hopefully I see you there!!!Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-24069075595042977572011-08-16T07:59:00.002-05:002011-08-19T09:23:37.167-05:00#49 keep the fire goingIt really is amazing how losing one pound can almost be as motivating and encouraging as losing 10 pounds. At least
for me. Your step is a little lighter, your smile a little bigger, every thing is just better. That sure does make the day a lot better. So what do you do if you do not lose weight or even gain weight. Because unfortunately during a weight loss journey you will have plateaus, and even gain weight at times. So what do I do. I blow it off, plain and simple. Some times I will look at my past week and know exactly why I have not lost, And if I know I was on track with my nutrition and my exercise, then more then likely it is just a temp thing anyways. The scale is an evil thing at times, it can really throw you off track if you let it. One of my goals is to gain muscle. So if I gained one pound of muscle and did not lose any fat that week what does that look like on a scale. FAIL!!! However it is a win win, muscle burns calories so it is really good to have. In short the scale is a very ruff map of what is actually going on so just take what it tells you with a grain of salt. measurements and how your clothes fit is a much better measure of your weight loss then a scale.Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5521384577040609940.post-38175047762236186062011-08-12T08:22:00.000-05:002011-08-12T08:22:00.456-05:00#48 AH on SLeep.

I really love working at the gym. I get to meet so many great people. I even have the chance to share my journey and help a few people out here and there. As I mentioned a while back I wanted to look into becoming a personal trainer. The more I think about it the more I realize that I want to do more then just that. I know it would be plenty rewarding but I want to help in more ways.

I have been look in to growing my own produce as well. I find it very hard some times to find good quality clean whole foods even though I live in one of the best states for agriculture. Our local stores can be a real hit and miss for fresh veggies.
I would like to know what other are doing and where you find the best foods.
I know the farmers markets can be great but come Oct. every thing dries up.
If I knew there was a market for it and had enough people needing good fresh produce I would probably try and start a green house. I have enough land and I know it would benefit my diet as well as my families. I just do not know how much to invest. I did not realize how expensive it can be.
Has any one else started growing your own foods and how has your experience with it been?
Well that is what the past two weeks have been for me. I just can not seem to get on the right track. I keep running into obsticals that are taking up time I would really rather invest in other areas. Like working out. I have not been able to get a full workout in in two weeks. The one thing I can say is having people supporting me is great. But the ones who could care less and just want my time and effort at the cost of me may just have to go.
I hate treating people like that but sometimes you need to let people fall behind so you can move forward.Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09684382542189880270noreply@blogger.com0
